According to Texas Monthly, it looks like the world’s largest concert promotion company, Live Nation, could be buying into C3 Presents, one of Austin’s two music promotion companies. Along with Transmission Events, C3 Presents books shows at Austin venue’s such as The Parish, Emo’s, and Stubbs, and as a result, Live Nation does not have much of a presence in Austin’s music scene, with the exception of the 360 Amphitheater at the Circuit of The Americas. All of that could change, since Live Nation is looking to purchase C3 for $250,000,000. This would give Live Nation a stake of 51% in C3 Presents and value it at $250 million. While Austin has always been known for its independent nature when it comes to its music scene, it looks like it won’t so little anymore. You can read the rest of the article over at Texas Monthly.
