Green Day played a secret show at 924 Gilman Street

Last night, Green Day played a show at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, California. The club is famous for giving Green Day their start in the late 80’s and early 90’s. The group was banned from the club after they achieved worldwide fame with their 1994 album Dookie. The club has had a rule for many years stating that bands who are signed to a major label cannot perform at the venue. The performance was a benefit show for DIY publishing house AK Press who lost their warehouse in a fire. You can watch videos of the performance over at Restless Press.
