The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees for 2015 have been announced. The list includes Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, Sting, and N.W.A. In order for a band or solo artist to become eligible to enter the Hall of Fame, their first record must have been released 25 years ago. This marks the first time Green Day and Nine Inch Nails are able to enter the Hall of Fame as both of their records (1,000 Slappy Hours and Pretty Hate Machine) were both released in 1989.

While artists are voted on by those in the music industry, historians, and other artists, fans can also play a roll in artists being inducted by participating in a “fan ballot” over at Rolling Stone. Fans have until December 9th to vote.
