If you want to use phrases such as “this sick beat”, or “party like its 1989”, you are going to have to ask Taylor Swift first. She has also trademarked “Cause We Never Go Out of Style” and “Nice To Meet You, Where You Been”, according to the legal database Justia. All of these phrases come from her most recent album 1989. The filings prohibit the phrases from being used on everything from guitar straps to removable tattoos, unless you get permission from the singer. Other more interesting items include typewriters, walking sticks, and non-medicated toiletries.
