Gibson has announced a limited run (150) of a new Pete Townshend Deluxe Gold Top ’76 guitar as part of its Les Paul Artist Series. Inspired by Townshend’s own guitars, the instrument will be constructed using techniques from the 1970’s. Townshend’s original Les Paul deluxe gold top guitar which was smashed on stage during a show with his band The Who at Boston Garden, is now on display in London and at the Albert & Victoria Museum.
