SXSW update

Just wanted to give everyone an update on how SXSW is going! The last three days have been pretty tiring, but very worth it. While I stuck to a schedule as far as bands were concerned last year, this year I’ve pretty much abandoned my schedule. Yesterday, I walked into the International Day Stage at the Austin Convention Center and discovered an Australian rapper named Remi. He has been by far my favorite discovery of SXSW so far. If you get a chance to see him at the conference, he is so worth it to see. After that, I headed over to Emo’s to see a free showcase featuring Pianos Become The Teeth, Night Riots, and The Maine. The show was great (as it usually is when The Maine are playing.) Check back for a review of the showcase sometime next week.

Also, I interviewed two great bands today named Flannel Mouth and Victorian Halls at the AMLI in downtown Austin. Both bands were great to talk to and very nice guys. If you get a chance, check out their music. Both bands are working on new records and heading out on tour soon. That’s pretty much it so far. I’m going to try and get a decent night’s sleep tonight!

As always, thanks for reading!
